Hastings Terms of Service
Welcome to Hastings Vehicle Hire Services. These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of our website carhirehastings.co.uk and our vehicle rental services. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Hastings Lease
All vehicle rentals through Hastings are subject to a detailed Rental Agreement supplied with your booking confirmation or at vehicle collection. This agreement contains specific terms, conditions, insurance details, charges, and your responsibilities for the particular rental. If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
2. Hastings Eligibility
To rent a vehicle from Hastings, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old (age restrictions may vary by vehicle type, with additional charges possible for drivers under 25). Hold a valid, full driving licence appropriate for the vehicle category, held for the minimum period specified in the Rental Agreement. Provide valid identification and proof of address and a payment method accepted by Hastings.
3. Reservations and Payment
- Bookings can be made through our website, by phone, or in person at our Hastings location. A booking deposit may be required to secure your reservation. 4. Vehicle Collection and Return (Hastings)
- You must inspect the vehicle at collection and report any existing damage to Hastings immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by you and a Hastings representative. Return the vehicle in the same condition as when collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage found on return will be assessed and charged in line with the rental agreement.
5. Insurance and Liability — Hastings
- Hastings includes basic third-party insurance with all rentals. Full coverage details and excess amounts are set out in the Rental Agreement. Additional insurance options may be available to reduce your financial liability. We recommend you review these options carefully. You are responsible for damage or loss up to the excess amount specified in the Rental Agreement.
6. Cancellation and Amendments
Cancellation and amendment policies at Hastings vary by booking type and notice period. Please refer to your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement for full details. Late cancellations or no-shows may result in charges.
7. Hastings Prohibitions
You must not use Hastings' rented vehicle for:
- Hastings: Any unlawful purpose or activity. Racing, rally events, off-road competitions, or other high-risk driving. Carrying hazardous or dangerous substances. Sub-letting the vehicle to third parties or allowing unauthorized drivers. Operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Use of the vehicle for purposes for which it is not intended...
Violating these restrictions at Hastings may result in immediate rental termination and additional charges.
8. Hastings Liability Limitation
To the maximum extent permitted by English and Welsh law, Hastings will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, data, or business, arising from your use of Hastings' services. The total liability of Hastings for any claim will not exceed the fees paid by you for the relevant service.
9. Governing Law (Hastings)
Hastings' Terms are governed by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
10. Hastings Terms Updates
Hastings may revise these Terms at any time. Revisions become effective immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of Hastings services after posting signifies acceptance of the revised Terms.
